President Paudel confers Honorary General Rank on Indian Army Chief Seth

President Ram Chandra Paudel conferred the insignia of the Honorary General of the Nepal Army on Indian Army Chief Dhiraj Seth at a special ceremony held  in Shital Niwas today.

The honorary rank was conferred in accordance with the long-standing tradition between Nepal and India, which dates back to 1950, of awarding the honorary rank of general to each other’s army chiefs.

General Seth arrived in Nepal on Sunday for a three-day official visit.

Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, senior officials from the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Army, as well as the Indian Ambassador to Nepal was present at the special investiture ceremony.
