Nepali Communist Party Parliamentary Party leader Khagaraj Bhatta has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province.

Bhatta staked his claim to the post with the support of the CPN-UML before Province Chief Nazir Miya on Friday morning. Miya appointed him chief minister shortly afterward.

Newly appointed Chief Minister Bhatta is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy at 3 pm today.
