Landslides and floods triggered by continuous rain have blocked roads in various parts of the country.
As a result, traffic has been affected on some highways and road sections in different districts, according to the information shared by the Nepal Police until 9 am today.
Considering the possibility of flooding on the Khurkot–Nepalthok–Katunje Bensi road section of the BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli, traffic has been stopped from 6 pm to 4am.
It has been announced that vehicles will be allowed to operate from 4 am to 6pm on this road section.
Vehicular movement has also been stopped at Kanti Lokpath in Makawanpur at night.
Police have said that the traffic has been restricted on this road from 5pm to 5am.
The Mechi Highway has been completely blocked at Rajduwali, Ilam Municipality-9, after heavy rain made the road muddy. However, an alternative road is operational in that area.
Landslides have completely blocked the road at Charkilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4 along the Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchok.
In Ekuma, Kodari of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, a landslide with stones, mud, and debris has blocked the road. The Araniko Highway has also been blocked at Liping in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 after part of the road collapsed.
The Trishuli–Mailung–Syaphrubesi road in Khalte, Ward 5 of Uttargaya Rural Municipality, Rasuwa, has been completely blocked after the Trishuli River eroded the road.
The Bheri Corridor road from Jajarkot to Dolpa at Rijegad Khola in Aathbiskot Municipality-6, Rukum West has been blocked due to a landslide.
The Mid-Hill Highway in Bhume Rural Municipality-4 Kadabagar and Bhume Rural Municipality-5 Dhaulapahira in Rukum East has also been completely blocked because of a landslide.
Similarly, the Midhill Highway has been blocked by landslides at Bimirebhanjyang in Lamjung's Madhyapur Municipality-10 and the Besisahar-Manang road has been completely blocked by landslides at Kharkhare in Besisahar Municipality-6.
The police have reported that the Beni–Jomsom road has been completely blocked due to a landslide at Baiseri in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 and at Mahabhir in Annapurna Rural Municipality-7 of Myagdi.
