The government and the family of Rabindra Kumar Mehta, who died in police firing at Kaptangunj in Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari district on  July 26, have reached a seven-point agreement today. 

As per the agreement signed between the parents of Mehta and Home Minister Sudan Gurung, the government will immediately initiate the process to declare Rabindra Kumar Mehta a martyr. 

Likewise, a fair and effective probe will be initiated to probe the incident that took place at Kepatangunj of Dewangunj Rural Municipality and legal action will be taken as per the laws against the perpetrators.

Similarly, the legal status of the Madrasa of Dewangunj-3 will be investigated immediately. 

As agreed, the government will take initiatives to provide a job to a qualified member of the family of the deceased. 

Similarly, the final rites of the deceased will be performed after taking the mortal remains to Dewangunj in a Nepal Army helicopter. 

The government will allocate a budget in the current fiscal year to build a memorial park in an appropriate location in memory of the three youths who died in the police firings in the rural municipality.
