The body of Nepali mountaineer Pur Bahadur Gurung (Yukta), who lost his life in the avalanche on Pakistan's Broad Peak, was brought to Kathmandu on Thursday.

Gurung was the first climber whose body was recovered following the Broad Peak avalanche.

Later, the rescue team initiated the process of bringing his body from the mountain to Kathmandu.

He was the Vice President of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (Gandaki Province) and a member of the Manang School Development Committee.

Ten people, including world-record-holding mountaineer Nirmal Purja (Nims Dai), lost their lives in an avalanche on Broad Peak.
