Barcelona have reached an "agreement in principle" with Bayern Munich to sign Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, BBC reported.

The 33-year-old, who has one year left on his Bayern contract, told the German champions last month that he wishes to leave.

Lewandowski scored 50 goals in 46 games last season as he helped Bayern win a 10th straight Bundesliga title.

Barca say the deal is "dependent on the player passing a medical and contracts being signed". 

"It's good to have clarity for all parties," said Bayern president Herbert Hainer, who first announced the agreement on Saturday.

"We have come to a verbal agreement with Barcelona.

"Robert is an incredible player and he won everything with us. We are incredibly grateful to him."

Lewandowski joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 and has scored 344 times in 374 games for the club, making him their second-highest scorer of all time behind Gerd Muller, according to BBC.

The Pole has won the league in all eight of his seasons at Bayern and also helped the Bavarians win the Champions League in 2019-20.

Bayern have also announced that Germany winger Serge Gnabry, 27, has signed a contract extension until 2026.

Barcelona completed the signing of Raphinhafrom Leeds on Friday in a deal worth up to £55m having already signed Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen on free transfers earlier this month, BBC reported.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of England forward Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in a £50m deal, BBC reported.

Sterling, 27, has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

City signed Sterling from Liverpool in a £49m deal in 2015. He went on to score 131 goals in 339 games, winning four Premier League titles.

Capped 77 times by England, Sterling is Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel's first major signing since the Todd Boehly-led takeover.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and close to a move for Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake.

"I've obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve and I'm really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt, under Thomas' management," said Sterling, according to BBC.

"London is my home and where it all started for me, and it's amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I'm really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon."

He added: "I can't wait to get going now and continue to do my talking on the pitch."

Sterling's deal is worth up to £50m including add-ons. He had one year left on his contract at City and had attracted interest from major clubs overseas.

He has linked up with the Chelsea squad in Los Angeles for pre-season.

Chairman and co-controlling owner Boehly said: "Raheem Sterling is a serial winner and his signing is an important step in strengthening our squad. We are delighted for Raheem to return to London with Chelsea, and we look forward to seeing his world-class talent on display at Stamford Bridge."

Nepal has maintained its spot in the One-Day International (ODI) by remaining in the 19th spot in the ranking released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today.

Nepal was ranked 19th last year as well.

According to the new ranking unveiled by the ICC, the world governing body of cricket, New Zealand has remained atop the ranking while England is placed second. India is ranked third.

Likewise, Pakistan is in the fourth, Australia fifth, South Africa sixth and Bangladesh seventh in the ranking. Similarly, Sri Lanka earned eighth position in the ranking while West Indies secured ninth and Afghanistan tenth.

Eight-time European champions Germany defeated Spain to secure top spot in Group B and avoid a Euro 2022 quarter-final tie with hosts England, BBC reported.

Germany were gifted an early goal when Spanish goalkeeper Sandra Panos' clearance fell straight to Klara Buhl and she scored with a low strike.

Lucia Garcia had a chance to level, but could only shoot into the side netting.

Alexandra Popp, who only returned to action in March after 10 months out with a knee injury, headed in a second.

The Wolfsburg striker had missed both Euro 2013 and Euro 2017 with ankle injuries, but claimed her second goal at these Euros after scoring as a substitute in the 4-0 win over Denmark on Friday.

Pre-tournament favourites Spain play the Danes on Saturday and the winners will finish second and face England in the last eight, while the losers will be eliminated on the head-to-head rule, which is used if teams finish level on points, according to BBC.

If the game ends in a draw, Spain will finish second thanks to a better overall goal difference.

England, aiming to win the tournament for the first time, recorded the biggest victory in the competition's history with an 8-0 thrashing of Norway on Monday to finish top of Group A.
